"Yoga has taught me that with self-love, compassion and the ability not to take life too seriously, I'm capable of anything. This is what I would like to pass on to my students."

Siobhan Power, Co-Founder of Children’s Yoga Tree

Siobhan is truly passionate about the benefits of yoga and mindfulness in schools and within the family unit. She co-founded Children’s Yoga Tree to help bring excellent quality yoga into schools and studios and hopes to inspire teachers through her training’s and workshops to ensure a brighter and more compassionate future for all.

As a yoga and movement facilitator, Siobhan's teachings incorporate breath and conscious movement to strengthen and stretch the body and to allow for a deeper connection with mind, body and soul. She integrates yoga philosophy as well as cleansing and aligning of chakras through physical and energetic practices. Her classes are challenging and draw influence from her variety of studies in Asia, South Africa and Europe and the wide range of ethnic studies she has been exposed to on her journey, such as retreats, dance and sound healing and her deep love for nature.

Siobhan was fortunate to start her yoga journey in India where she studied her 500hrs traditional yoga teacher training with her teacher and mentor, Ganga Devi of The Himalayan Yoga Institute. Her curiosity about body work and energy healing led her to train with Jambo Truong, a Forest Guardian and body worker, which expanded her knowledge and understanding of body work, trauma and yoga, which is where her teachings currently lie.

She spent 8 years in London attending various workshops and retreats where she was fortunate enough to be exposed to inspiring and passionate teachers, workshops and training’s through the various studios she worked at, including The Shala, West Norwood, Level6 in Peckham, The Light Centre in Bank, MoreYoga and Hotpod Yoga. It is from the support of these studios and the exposure of all the different styles and techniques, that she has a deep understanding, vast amount of knowledge and ever lasting passion for everything Yoga.

She also co-founded Ying-yang Yoga retreats with Louisa Benjamin and was fortunate to travel internationally and offer her teachings in places such as Ibiza, Morocco and St Lucia and she continues to offer one day retreats and plan international retreats for 2022. Her collaboration with Rebekah Shaman was a highlight of her retreat career where she offered her teachings as part of a Woman’s Empowerment and Leadership program and she is so grateful for everything she learnt from all the teachers, mentors and students she has connected with over the years.

She now spends most of her time in Johannesburg, her home town, where she is co-creating a healing centre, food farm and yoga school and continues to offer her teachings, mentorships and training’s online.

Through her offerings she aims to bring movement and mindfulness into communities that she is exposed to so that everyone is able to feel fulfilled and empowered through the practice and understanding of these powerful ancient techniques.
